Relative Humidity

Relative humidity is not how humid it is outside but rather the amount of humidity the air can hold. some factors to note are the air temperature and altitude.

  • Proper humidity level are 40-50% Relative Humidity

  • A lower Temp is only going to allow for so much water to be trapped in the air.

  • Keep your temperature around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. This will be easy to hold proper humidity level

  • Not much you can do with this one but to understand it. But altitude will also effect your humidity. A higher altitude there’s less air and less air to hold water. Just note if you’re at altitude you will need to fill your humidifiers more often.

 Cleaners

How do I clean a handcrafted guitar?

Because you have a Handcrafted guitar you don’t have a heavy factory finish.

only use a soft rag Vanderweele guitars are a traditional french polish, Cleaners and other damp cloths can cloud or remove a french polish!

Fretboard & Bridge care

My fretboard looks and feels dry. Can I give it extra love?

Of course you can give it more love!

  • I like to use lemon oil to keep my fretboards hydrated.

Please make sure that the lemon oil doesn’t have petroleum distillates.

Petroleum distillates will actual dry out the fretboard.

  • The bridge is finished with a special Lutherie wax

(This is use to help keep the bridge sealed and hydrated)

Keep your hand built guitars setup properly to help prevent any damage and to Allow them to keep playing like the dream guitar just like the day that you bought it
